I go to my favorite Japanese stores…
You can’t tell if I am in Japan or California.

Green is her favorite color. Â That’s the reason why I am using green fonts for this post.
In a few days, our younger daughter is turning 4. Â I’ve been asking around OC Mom groups about finding a good photographer who can do a mini-session with my daughter so that I can have a photo memory of her turning 4 years old. Money is an important consideration so after contemplating on it, I realized that I was the one who took all the pictures of my eldest daughter years ago, so why not grab my cameras, bring some toys, extra cute clothes and put them in my mommy bag and start heading for the nearest park.
We spent almost 2 hours playing, running, talking, and laughing and I ended up taking 60+ shots of her and I will be keeping around 15 compositions that truly captured great memories of her.
Next plan… another photo shoot – this time with her big sister.Â

A break from cooking. This photo was taken by me during my first trip to Hong Kong last December 2009 with my family. It was a 7-day side trip to Hong Kong, after visiting Manila for the holidays.
To me, Hong Kong is full of character that needs to be experienced by any person who craves the extraordinary culture of the East. I wanted to capture an image of Hong Kong that will remind me of the “feel” I had when I was there experiencing the country.
The high-rise Hong Kong apartments captured my attention. Just like in Japan (my dream country to visit someday), I like the idea that people can live in small homes because they have to accustom their lifestyle to what resources they have.
My photo shows the busy street along the alley of Tsim Sha Tsui but atop the commercial ground are the quiet homes of Hongkongese. The gloomy and chilly mood during winter time makes it over-the-top for me.
I think I really left my heart… not in San Francisco – but in Hong Kong.
Finally, a blog site where I can hopefully religiously share my posts about me and my world. It took months for me to decide where to finally create an account and I have chosen wordpress in the end. Why? I don’t know, maybe because of the color scheme and the simplicity of the themes I see online.
I’m really excited about this! I actually don’t know where to start but I guess by writing this, I have already started my first post.
There’s a lot going on in my mind. I want to say this, I want to say that, do I have to mention this, should I mention that! Ha ha! Let me pause for a few moments…. To my reader/s (or just myself if I will be the only one reading this), thank you for spending time to visit my blog site.
Mostly, I will be talking about my passion on cooking and amateur photography. I am excited to upload my photos not to show off but to see it organized online and ready for sharing firstly to my family and friends, then to the world.
Well, let’s start this!
I can’t believe I am doing this! Again, finally…. I am learning to do this. I wanted to do this since way back in 2007 but I never started it. I attempted several times but each one did not succeed. I hope this time, my photos will be seen by people and I wish that these beginner shots will be appreciated.
Photo was taken using my Nikon camera purchased last December for my family’s trip to Manila, Philippines and Hong Kong. I acquired a new 35mm fixed lens this month and I tested my shots on this beautiful lavender plant gifted to me by Bok. This flower is sitting right on our patio on a window planter facing northwest.
